I had a blog all set in my mind to write about today. Then I had the opportunity to listen in on our team call last night and hear an amazing story from Mark Briggs last night. I posted about it on our team group page, and when someone commented asking what the call was about and I was typing my response, it hit me. I can blog about that other subject anytime. In a way, I can even integrate it into this post.

The thing about listening to Mark Briggs that was so profound, though, was hearing how truly dedicated he was to helping others. It wasn’t about the money. He had a full time job. He would literally spend 20 hours a week on top of that job looking for ways to help more people! Sure, you hear that all the time, but it was just different somehow.

Maybe it’s the fact that I’ve had the opportunity the past few days to help some people out in need in other ways. Maybe it’s something else. The fact remains that it just hit me like a ton of bricks! I’ve gotten a bigger sense of accomplishment with those few deeds of selfless giving than I ever have before!

The bottom line is this: I’m here to help! With what I’ve had the opportunity to help out with recently, I want to help more than ever!

We’re entering a holiday where we are to be thankful for what we have. We should be that way every day, anyway! Sure, I’m thankful for my family and my loved ones and getting the opportunity to spend time with them. I don’t want the praise, I just want to give as many people as possible a reason to be thankful for something. I know I accomplished that last night, for two different families! I know one young man will be extremely excited for Christmas. I know another family who has been dealing with a certain pain for years, and I’m working on some things to help ease that pain. I know a third person who will be receiving something they’ve wanted for a very long time that will be cherished for many, many years to come and will help maintain this person’s desire to cherish their family as much and as often as possible. How great does it feel to know you can impact someone’s life like that?

It’s no secret I became a coach for Team Beachbody, because I wanted to help pay it forward due to my own successes with their workout programs. P90X, Insanity, Asylum, and Shakeology helped me to lose over 50 lbs. so far, and to get healthier! Sure, my heart was in the right place, but to what extent? This blog was started to implement that mindset and put it into action. It also felt great to get two emails earlier this week from people who had read my blog saying that I inspired them to start on their own journey to get healthy and fit. Their own physical fitness had been lacking and they read my story and wanted to get back in shape. It’s the first two of many to come, I’m sure. It also makes me want to push myself harder to continue writing my own story.

See, the more you give of yourself, the more you get in return! Mark Briggs mentioned that he felt guilty getting paid to help these people. When he was told to think of it as the more money he makes, that’s just more people that he’s helping, it took on a new direction for him. Maybe I just needed to experience a little of it myself. I haven’t made millions, or even thousands from my coaching business. I will, someday, but that’s not what it’s about. The sense of accomplishment, the sense of pride, the sense of being someone else’s reason for giving thanks is all I need.

I had someone else thank me last night, once again, for something I did for them recently. I told him “Merry Christmas”. His was response was “Well, thank you. I really appreciate it.” I then said, “Please don’t think I’m implying that I want something in return. The only thing I want for Christmas this year is to see the faces of my family when they open their gifts.”

It’s all about giving! The human spirit was designed by God to be a giving spirit. When we begin to give of ourselves, selflessly, is when the true reward comes out!

With all that in mind, I would love to help YOU reach your goals in fitness and health! Let me give of myself, my knowledge, my time, and my resources, to help you achieve what your desires and goals are for your own health! All you have to do is click that “Contact” link up at the top right of the page. Send me a message telling me how I can help you! I’m already giving thanks for the abundance that I have. Now, I want to start just giving!
