Blueberry Tart Shakeology
Sometimes the simplest things are the best. For this Blueberry Tart Shakeology, all you need are blueberries, a scoop of Chocolate Shakeology, and a splash of cranberry juice for tartness, well, because chocolate. Throw in some water and ice — done and done.
Some fruits were just made for each other: Blueberries and cranberries have a rich and intertwined background in North American history. They’re two of only three fruits (Concord grapes are the third) that are native to North America. Native Americans used antioxidant-rich cranberries as a food source, dye, and medicine; blueberries have been used throughout history in similar ways. They’re also really good at staining your clothes for the same reason. So, unless you’re a total daredevil, consider wearing an apron when making this shake. Or all black.
When making the Blueberry Tart Shakeology, make sure to use unsweetened cranberry juice and blueberries. These berries are plenty sweet on their own. And if you’re making this on a hot day, use frozen blueberries or consider pouring them into popsicle molds and freezing for a treat!
